Kiyosu Castle is located only six kilometers away from Nagoya station but it takes longer than you imagine.
1. Using JR Tokaido line trains bound for Gifu. It may take longer but it is easier to follow. But the catch is that connection timing is really bad. Rapid train does not stop at Kiyosu station. So you can only take the local train that runs in every 20 minutes. After getting off at Kiyosu Station, it is well guided. Follow the signs that says "Kiyosujou" in Kanji. As you can finally see Kiyosu castle keep in the distance there is a huge parking space and go through it until you find the park entrance.
2. Using Meitetsu Nagoya Main Line bound for Gifu. It is not recommend unless you are coming from Nagoya Centrair Airport, a resident living nearby or know a lot about Nagoya area. If you are changing trains from Shinkansen Bullet Train, finding Meitetsu line station is not easy in labyrinthine Nagoya station. If you can find where it starts take Nagoya Main Line bound for Gifu.
Local, Semi Express, Express and Rapid Express stop at Shinkiyosu Station. After getting off at Shinkiyosu station, go northward and when it joins the broad road turn right to find the river. After finding the river go upstream and go under the Shinkansen line then you will find a red bridge and a castle keep.
