Atsuta Jingu Park close to Atsuta Shrine is a nice place to stroll and watch local people play baseball, tennis and other activities. It is also known as the place where Danpusan Tomb Mound, the longest keyhole shaped Kofun in Aichi Prefecture,150 meters in length, is located. You cannot get inside the mound but you can walk around the ancient tomb which takes about 6 to 8 minutes. It's really huge. There is also a kiddie park but when I went there in July it was closed to make some repair work.

The Nagoya Grampas are the local proessional soccer (football) club. Soccer is becoming a really popular spectator sport in Japan. I think it will overtake baseball soon as the most popular sport. The Grampas play in Toyota Stadium. It's probably the most fantastic-looking stadium I've seen from afar. If you go to Toyota you won't miss it. It's located along a river park. I'm not sure how good the Grampas are, but the stadium draws a lot of fans.

The dome is a pretty impressive indoor covered stadium. One weekend, on a lark, we took the subway out and found that even though the Dragons were not playing, there was a Jr. Sumo wrestling for childern being held. We were able to walk down on the field and check it out.
