Nagoya Noh Theater and the Park

    by taigaa001 Updated Aug 27, 2012

Nagoya Noh Theater is located close to the parking space for tour buses near the Main Gate of the Nagoya Castle. This theater is dedicated to traditional art performance such as Noh or Kyogen plays. It is also used as a venue for classical music performance. The gate and the wall with cascading water outside the theater building is great as well. Around the Noh theater is a nice park with statue of Kiyomasa Katoh noted warrior who served under Hideyoshi and Iyeyasu. The park area also has a fountain surrounded by unique art objects. I had little time for this place so I only visited a small museum on Noh play free of charge to enter.

The facility aims to promote the traditional Japanese art of Noh-play. This elegant Japanese style building contains a small museum with a permanent exhibition on Noh. Free(exhibition room)
