In my case, I was paying for a hotel bill using this vending machine located in the foyer of my room. Two days after I used this machine, I was contacted by the police and was told that my credit card had been copied and attempts were made to use the copy.
If you are using a credit card in Nagoya, it might pay to be careful with ATMs. My credit card company and the police recommended that I only use bank ATMs with a camera installed and never use my card in a vending machine or phone booth. Leave a Comment

I have an allergy to shrimp and I learned the hard way that there is shrimp in most foods that you find in restraunts. Make sure to ask if there is the substance that you are allergic to in the food you are ordering, even if it looks like there isn't. The Japanese for this is ' ga haiteimasu ka?' Leave a Comment

Nagoya is very safe - the climate is the biggest danger. There is a rainy season. It rains every day and night heavily. It can also get extremely humid over a few months. Check up on the climate on a website before you go is a strong recommendation. Leave a Comment

We found that restaurant in Nagoya closed very early. I don't know in another area, but around Nagoya station, most of the restaurants are close on 8. Be sure to come earlier or find another place instead. Leave a Comment
