Most of the major tourist attractions located in the countryside of Toyota city are part of Aichi-Kogen Quasi National Park, designated in 1970. Major scenic spots in Toyota which are part of the quasi-national park include:
Kuragaike Park, Korankei Gorge, Otaki Gorge, Mt. Sanage, Lake Okuyahagi. Tokai Nature Trail passes major scenic spots of this quasi national park.

Mt. Sanage is the low mountain located between Seto and Toyota, 629 meters above sea level. Since this is one of the most popular segments of Tokai Nature Trail, Japanese version of National Scenic Trail, the climbing routes from both Seto and Toyota are excellently managed and popular even among family hikers. While Seto side, northern part of the mountain, is characterized with lush green forest, Toyota side of the trail, south side of the mountain, is filled with uniquely shaped rocks and religious sites.
Seto climbing route starts from Unkoji temple while Toyota route starts from Sanage Shrine. It is also a part of Aichi Kogen Quasi National Park.

Kuragaike Park is one of the most popular parks in Aichi prefecture. It is a huge park with the area of 94 ha, with the beautiful view around Kuragaike Pond, hiking trails, a small zoo and a farmpark with sheep and horses. It also has a Toyota Kuragaike Memorial Hall, showing how Toyota company has become what it is today. My last visit to the park was in 1990 so I would like to visit the park again for the Toyota Memorial Hall. It is a good place for a family trip.
