It's really fun skiing and snowbording in Nagano, it's the first time for me to meet a plenty of powder snow!! I'm sure it was getting the course of improvement my funskiing skill!! I was so happy. There are welcoming and sending buses on principal places or suburb in Nagano. Hakuba is not so far from Nagano city, just 1 hour by bus. There are many skiing ground in Nagano, Shiga, Iizuna highland etc... It's worth for skiers coming to there!!

You MUST go to a Hot Spring. There are whole towns built around these!!
Your skin feels very soft afterwards and your body is tingling all over! Totally energized! I think these are the REAL secret to why Japanese live so long! ;)

Hokusai is most famous for his Views of Mount Fuji, but you don't get to see those (just the postcards!). He came to Obuse in his later years (in 1844 at the age of 85!!) and completed the painting of two ceilings for festival floats. There are also some of his hanging scrolls, sketches, albums etc. to be seen.

I like the Outdoor Hot Springs!! ('Rotenburo')
Remember you have to take your clothes off!! (most are women/men only, but outdoor ones are sometimes mixed.)

A very small museum and perhaps only interesting for Hokusai fans (like myself!). You can also buy some very nice scrolls and very tastefully printed scarfs with Hokusai motifs.
