This is sushi rice topped with sushi vinegar preserved mackerel and salmon. The taste is excellent, and judging from the "use-by" data keeps about an extra day longer than usual "use-by" dates for box lunches - probably because of the sushi pickling, so its perfect for picking up one for later eating during the journey!!
This long-selling local specialty box lunch which was introduced since the 1950's has placed 1st in national "ekiben" competitions. Generally, it is available for purchase only in this area, primarily at Hachinohe Station.
Manufactured by local company Yoshidaya Ltd. which was founded in the year 1892.
