Misawa Restaurants

  • Great if you just want to be around...

This place is quite popular among some Americans, although I find it inexplicable. The food is mediocre and it's hard to find mediocre food in the area. It may be well-liked because it is what we are used to in many Japanese restaurants in the States, but do yourself a favor and keep walking down the road to a much better place.

Tutti is a quaint trattoria with a large menu of italian classics--to include many of southern Italy's seafood based culinary delights. Order ala carte off the menu or pay just 1,995 yen for a night of all you can eat (1700-2100). The majority of the menu is included in the all-you-can eat so there are a myriad of choices. The amazing thing about...

Paddy's Irish pub: Order up a pint

    by terps94 Written Jun 25, 2004

Just outside the main gate of the Air Base there is an Irish pub so if you are craving some Guinness or Kilkenny head out to this pub. The food is not that bad I recommend the yakisoba and rice omelette

Just like any other pubs in Japan a pint can cause you about 700 to 800 yen.

    Dress Code: casual

This place offer a fun distraction for the day. In here you will see a replica of "miss Veedol" the first aircraft that made the transatlantic flight from here to the US. They have different activities in here like a flight simulator for a cessna and helicopter ( I crashed both aircraft , good thing I work in the back of the aircrat, hehe) You will see different exhibits that deals with flight and just different scince exhbits

Outside the museum they have a nice little park and also they have a couple of aircraft prak there to include a US Navy P-3, japanese F1 to name a few.

  • Hitting the slopes

there are lot of ski slopes in the Tohoku region I havent tried any of it yet but a friend who have skied the area recommends APPI. A lot of the ski trip we go to we sign up with the outdoor recreation on base and they take care of the driving and some of the gear.
