Favorite thing: Go to China Town, Yamashita Koen(the park by the port), Sakuragichou, and area around the Yokohama station.
Sakuragichou and area close by is where action is. There are many shops and bars. It's very modern, but still retains old port city charm(Yokohama is often called Minatomachi, meaning port city).
Yokohama station area is another good area with lots of department stores and izakaya, Japanese style taverns.
Oh don't forget Landmark tower, second tallest in Japan. The view from it is spectacular, if you go there in sunny clear day. Also, the area around has been developed recently and has very 'modern' look.

Fondest memory: Not only in Yokohama, but in every place in Japan: the kindness of their people. They love to help foreigners. This sensation is maybe increased because of the FIFA Worldcup but nevertheless I love this people.

I went back to Yokohama last November and had a blast! This time was also for business, but it was fun because I knew what to expect, and it was great to see everyone at Panasonic in Yokohama again!

Day-trip from Tokyo to Yokohama

I visited Yokohama as a day trip from Tokyo with some Japanese friends. The only thing I knew from this city is that the highest building of Japan is here.
