The interesting part is that at the underground there is a nice reconstruction of a Japanese town in the forties, with fake facades of houses and shops and real ramen-ya where you can sample the noodles (but nothing is included in the price of the entrance ticket!)

My friends had a strange plan: they took me to the Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum. Do you know 'ramen'? It's a soup with noodles, bean sprouts and pork, a typical Japanese dish. There are many varieties according to the region, but I didn't know there were SO MANY! Well, come to the museum and learn everything you ever wanted to know about ramen.

When visiting Chinatown, just have a break buying some street food and finding a place like the the square in the picture (maybe the only place you can see the sky in this dense neigbourhood), sit and relax chewing a bean-filled chinese bread... and maybe chat with the locals!
It's also the only place I saw in Japan where people had big dogs playing on the street :)

Neat Hakone, the hot springs resort, there is geothermal activity. At one of these spots it is customery to eat a egg that is hard boiled in the sulfer water. The egg turns black. You are said to gain seven years good luck.

I went back to Yokohama last November and had a blast! This time was also for business, but it was fun because I knew what to expect, and it was great to see everyone at Panasonic in Yokohama again!
