Located off the Great Naruto Bridge, these whirlpools in the Inland Sea between Shikoku & Awaji Island are one of the world's largest. The best time to go is in the spring and the fall, when the whirlpools can reach up to 30 meters in diameter! Wow!
Also don`t miss The Great Naruto Memorial Museum (Science Museum of Whirlpool) where there is a 3D theater showing you how strong the whirlpools really are.
TAKE the TOKUSHIMA SHIKI BUS from the east exit of JR SANNOMIYA STATION in Kobe. It costs 2750yen R/T and takes 90 mins to reach NARUTO KOEN (3rd stop). From there, walk 10 mins to NARUTO KOEN and catch a ferry to take you to see the whirlpools. There are a few ferry companies you can take and costs about 2000yen/adult. This photo is taken near the bath house.... the same scenery can be seen from the open air baths!
In Japanese tradition, people share public baths... that means you have to take a bath with other naked people..hehehe.

If you are coming from Akashi & are taking the ferry to get here, buy a combination ticket (round-trip ferry+onsen) for 900yen. It`s the best deal! The onsen admission is 700yen if bought singly. Take the #5 bus from the ferry terminal & get off at the stop at the top of the hill (230yen) to get to the onsen. Leave a Comment
