Favorite thing: Take the monorail. Chiba is one of the few cities with a working urban monorail system. Especially if it is your first time here, it gives you a great overview of the city. It is a tad more expensive than the regular trains, but it is worth it. Also, the track is above, not below. So even if you have ridden the monorail at Disnleyland, this is a different experience!LOL!
Fondest memory: On American Independence Day, I got a couple of Japanese to go shoot off fireworks in Chiba Park, and I even taught them the words to the Star Spangled Banner!

Favorite thing: Since Chiba PREFECTURE is surrounded by water, the oceanic climate is pleasant with mild winters and cool summers, creating a very favorable living environment. The coast of southern Boso in particular has very little frost, even in the middle of winter. Flowers bloom all year throughout southern Boso creating a warm southern atmosphere.
