Fresh or frozen local seafoods are available for purchase at the markets or shops (sardines, alfonsino sea bream, and even the mighty tuna are especially good local fishes). The local markets will be cheaper, but the posher tourist gift shops can prepare the goods for transport back home and/or present them gift-wrapped upon request.

As two major Soy Sauce factories Yamasa and Higeta (both open for public tours) are located in the area, local specialties include gourmet versions of Soy Sauce, such as those fermented with local sardine base, low salt, gift versions etc. Also moist rice biscuits flavoured with soy sauce is a local specialty.
