Mother farm - family fun

by sunshine_01

Mother Farm is located on the top of Mt. Kano and it has an animal farm which includes cows, sheeps, pigs, horses and other animals. They have various animal shows/events such as the sheep show, piggy race, sheep grand parade, duck parade. In the piggy race, the children had to smack the backs of the pigs and chased their pigs towards the end point of the race tracks. There is no lack of fun for the children at the amusement park at the top of the mountain, a bungy jump, a big maze etc. You would be able to experience cow milking, horse riding and there are various workshops that teach you how to make ice-ceam, butter, art & craft etc. It has an orchard that offers activities such as fruit and flower picking. You would be able to pick strawberries from Jan to May and it cost 800yen for 300g of strawberries picked. I visited Mother Farm during March and there were rape blossoms all across...

Nokogiri-yama (saw mountain)

by sunshine_01

Mt. Nokogiri is located on the Minami-Boso area in Chiba and it gets its name because the face of the mountain has edges like a saw. I took a ferry ride to Port Kanaya and it is a short walk from Port Kanaya to take the Ropeway up to the Mt. Nokogiri. The observatory at the mountaintop offers 360-degree panoramic views, and on a fine day you may be able to see Mt. Fuji across the sea.It is a good hiking trail that offers stunning sceneries. You need a good pair of walking shoes because you will be climbing a lot of steep stairs. Along the trail, you would be able to see Great Buddha carved into the side of the mountain, stone statues of Sen-gohyaku-rakan (1500 disciples of Buddha), Jigoku nozoki(Valley of Hell) a small rock platform which sticks out over a cliff that allows you to look deep into the valley from cliffs, stone carving of Hyaku Shaku Kannon(Godness of Mercy) and Nihon-ji....

Mount Nokogiri

by gogonicetrip

Mount Nokogiri ("saw-mountain" in Japanese), as its name implies, is shaped like the teeth of a saw. This mountain forms the boundary between the Kazusa and Awa areas of the Boso Peninsula. In winter, we enjoy warmer weather in Kyonan-machi because the mountains here serve as a barrier from the cold northern winds. The name of our town, Kyonan-machi, meaning "south of Mt. Nokogiri", is taken from this mountain. On Mt. Nokogiri's southern side you can find the Buddhist temple, Nihon-ji temple, dating back to 725 A.D. [Back to Home of Chiba-ken]

Sawara, Histrical area along Onogawa River

by gogonicetrip

If you want to see the merchant life of Edo period (200years ago), stroll around the town of Sawara located next to Narita.Stores and houses that retain traces of old times line both sides of Onogawa River, creating an Edo period atmosphere. As testimony to the authentic style of these houses, samurai dramas have recently been filmed on these streets.
