Matsuyama Castle by seeksaysi A "must visit" in Matsuyama is the castle. Of all the castles I visited in Japan this is the best. It was one of the few that is not just a hollow shell of former self. I spent a whole day there and came away wishing that I had more time to spend wandering through it. Leave a Comment

by Sakura_Kobe Personally, I don't like hot spring very much, so I seldom go. But I like Dogo Spa Honkan (Main Hall) for its old traditional wooden building. It is a public bathhouse. There are two separate bath inside, with rest area for each one. The hot spring has water that is colorless and ordorless. If you are interested in a Japanese hot spring, it is the palce you should go. Leave a Comment

by Shizuka I mentioned already above, Dogo Onsen (hot spring). It's little bit hot compare with our average temp having a bus. But you should try! Your skin is perfectly getting smoothly and warmly!! Leave a Comment

by Sakura_Kobe Dogo Spa Station is the entrance of Hot Spring Resort-Dogo. I took the picture, since it looks very lovely. You can feel of Meiji era, one of Japan's old time from the building.(It was rebuilt recently, though) Leave a Comment

by Sakura_Kobe There are many suvenir shops across the street from Dogo Spa Honkan. I bought some sweets from one of the shops. All the shop are old and typically Japanese style. Leave a Comment

Matsuyama international centre publishes this newsletter each month in English. It outlines the events that are on, both in Matsuyama and other parts of Ehime. Kinokuniya is not a bad place to pick it up, but you can find it in selected spots around the city. Leave a Comment

The main post office on nibancho is the best place to change money. The local banks are Iyo and Ehime bank, both firmly stuck in their 19th century ways, and best not dealt with at all. The post office ATMs are about the only place to my knowledge where you can withdraw money from overseas bank accounts. Credit cards are much more widely accepted these days. Leave a Comment

There are various places in Matsuyama where you can access the internet for free, most centrally is a small place in the Matsuyama city station (Shieki), and also in the Ehime Prefectural International Centre. There are also internet cafes in town, which you need to join before you can use. There are one or two along the Okaido shopping arcade. Leave a Comment
