Gogoshima is a small island off the coast of Matsuyama accessible from Mitsu port.

It's mostly a place where oranges are grown, but there's a nice beach, which is a great place to be in the hot summers (30 degrees plus)

    Ishiteji Temple

by lotharscheer Updated Dec 5, 2014

A bit out of the way (1,3 km east of Dogo Onsen) is the unusual Ishiteji Temple with a connected Museum. Founded in the 8. century by the Shingon Buddhist Sect, it houses a variety of statues and all sorts of strange things and is part of the 88 temple pilgrimage.
