The best part about this restaurant is that it is only one of two authentic foreign restaurants in Matsuyama. If you are there for the short term, stick to the Japanese food. If you are spending a month or more and want something different, try this please.
Favorite Dish: Beef or Lamb Curry with flat bread.

It's the only real French restaurant in town. The owner/chef is a bonafide Frenchman.
Favorite Dish: I like the paella. It is a Spanish dish served in a French restaurant, but I'm not complaining, as I lived in Ehime for two years and welcomed a taste that was distinctively non-Japanese.

This place does excellent set menus with a variety of crab dishes, including tempura, sashimi, grilled, crab sushi etc.
It's not cheap, but excellent for a special occasion.

Freshness burger near the city station is pretty good for its burgers and coffee. They have a good range to choose from, and it's reasonably priced.

Munchen is a beer hall that specialises in fried chicken. It does do other stuff like sausage, salad and so on, but people only ever go in there to eat fried chicken and down a few cold beers.
