Shimanami Kaido, is a Highway from Onomich in Hiroshima-ken to Imabari in Ehime-ken through many islands in the Seto Inland Sea such as Mukaishima-island, Innoshima-island, Ikuchishima-island, omishima-island, Hakuhoujima-island and Oshiam-island.In between islands, are connected by the beautiful bridges.
Although this website was put together by the bumbling types at the Ehime Prefectural Office, it does give a good idea of what activities there are in Ehime for the visitor.
Ehime has more than its share of castles, with castles at Kawanoe, Imabari, Matsuyama, Ozu and Uwajima.Matsuyama is the best of them of course, but castle fans will have plenty to see in Ehime.
There's an Anpanman train that runs through Ehime prefecture. I always tried to get on it if I could. Here's a photo of me at Matsuyama station next to an Anpanman.
Well worth a visit. The tour itself is much like any other brewery tour, but then afterwards we retired up to the beer restaurant. Absolutely fantastic.
