The Voodoo Lounge is a very popular place with ex-pats. It is a restaurant but has a dance floor and DJ.

You can often find live acts there on the weekend. There is usually a cover charge of 500 - 1000 yen.

Nakasu district: Nightlife in Fuluoka-City

Nakasu is a entertainment district in Fukuoka-City.

At night, it becomes a colorful maze of neon lights, with lamps from yatai (food stalls) along the Naka River providing a charming row of lights. Enjoy the adult nightlife, take a walk by the river, or enjoy a trip on a pleasure boat.

Crazy Cock: Where the Expats go to Party

I know, what you're thinking - what kind of a crazy club name is that? Well, it's Japan and that's about all I can say in answer. The place is usually pretty dead until about 10pm. There are usually foreign bartenders & waitresses and most everyone understands English.

By midnight, the tiny club will be completely jam packed with people. You probably wont' be able to move more than one inch in either direction. We'd usually head there first thing for the music & drinks. Then head someplace else when it get's too claustraphobic.

Dress Code: Very casual. Go in jeans, T-shirt, sneakers, etc. It's so packed in there, no one will see what you're wearing.

Beer's: Microbrews in Fukuoka?

Found this place with the help of the English-language "Fukuoka Now" magazine. It has a great selection of Japanese microbrews (!) as well as imported ales. When you're tired of the same old Kirin...

Great vibe. It's a family operation. The owner, "Hiro", is friendly and passionate about beer. The snacks from the kitchen are tasty, too. You're likely to run into an international crowd here.

Hollands is probably the biggest bar in Fukuoka with a dance floor. They hold theme nights occasionaly (usually Latin or special DJ's). There is a buffet available from 6pm. Open until late!

Nakasu over the river in Fukuoka

Nakasu (which means middle of the river in Japanese) is the red-light or "entertainment" district of the city.
It is located on an island close to Tenjin. There are over 2500 hostess bars which will leave a serious dent in your wallet if you go to them!
The sex industry is prolific and this is the area that many overworked businessmen go to "let their hair down"!
There are many yatai which are outdoor food and beer stalls down by the river at night.

In October the huge Lantern Festival is a spectacular cultural event held in Nakasu.

Vibes: Hot clubs!!!!!
601_boy profile photo
601_boy 1 reviews

Club Vibes is a cool spot to go to, but if you are going there to find a girl you will have to work pretty hard unless the girl has known you for a while. There are other alternatives to this but I would rather not say to much about it. The music is up to date, so are the drinks. The best night to go is on Saturday around 11p.m. By that time the club will be starting to get packed.

Dress Code: Anything is acceptable but I wouldn't wear white to the club, because most likely you will get it dirty.

Nakasu night out!

Nakasu is a bank surrounded by a river. This name of the place comes from its geographical features. And the land is fully an amusement town for adults, men.
Once you drop in this area at night, you may not be able to run away from this verrrry fascinating town before you try some shops. I mean dubious shops, folks ; )
Ladies, keep your eye on your boyfriend not to enter this town or you may have to sleep alone...

Dress Code: Being a man.
