Fukuoka Subway

by Ewingjr98

I took the subway from the airport to the city center and returned to the airport via the same route. It is an older subway, but safe, clean and efficient. Every station along the line has a different fare, so you have to check the fare map before purchasing your ticket to determine how much your ticket should cost. Everything is in English and Japanese, so you shouldn't have too much trouble (though it was not quite as simple as the Seoul, Korea subway!)

Fukuoka Airport

Flights to Fukuoka are available from many large Asian cities such as Seoul, Manila, Bangkok, and others. This is a mid-sized, modern airport with three terminals. Note that one terminal is for international flights and the others are for domestic. If you fly to Fukuoka from another country and are continuing on within Japan (to Tokyo, Okinawa, etc), you will probably have to change terminals to catch your connecting flight.

Fukuoka Airport is known as one of the very few airports that are located in city area in Japan.Fukuoka Airport is directly connected to the Fukuoka City Subway providing immediate access to Hakata Railway Station 5 minutes, and to Tenjin, the city centre of Fukuoka, only about 10 minutes. There is Shuttle Bus service connecting between Domestic and International Terminals.
