Further along from the Hideyo Noguchi museum, there are lake cruises going out on a fairly regular basis.
It lasts for 30 minutes or so, and costs 1000 yen. It's a very pleasant cruise around the lake.

Hideyo Noguchi is certainly one of Fukushima prefecture's favourite sons, and this museum is located in the very same place where he was born, and where he grew up.

It's an interesting museum, even if some of the English translations there are pretty wonky. It outlines the work that he did as a bacteriologist.
He features on Japan's 1000 yen note. Quite a distinction, as Japan only has 4 banknote denominations, and one of those (the 2000 yen note) is rarely seen.

It is a great resort getaway for family, family with children/elders or even just couple. So many thing and activities for everyone. Never get bored and if you just want to R&R only, I will also recommend you Listel Inawashiro.
Located in a quiet and peaceful town yet it provides full of fun activities for whole family to enjoy in the resort.
Many restuarant available in the resort vicinity or if you prefer, you may travelled about 10 - 15 mins away to the town to taste local speciality or get some drinks/snacks from the local supermarket.
I had a hearty meal at the raman restuarant located near the supermarket and bought fresh and tasty bakery (bacon & egg bread + melon bun + coffee bun) from the local supermarket.

There are 4 varieties of beer on offer here, and they are not too bad. I found the dark beer most to my liking.
The tasting set, pictured, is what I ordered. Food is pretty good as well, good German style fare.

Bicycle is a pretty good way of getting around Inawashiro, and there is a bicycle trail along the lake front which is quite good. We visited a few different spots, and not having a car, and with sparse public transport in the area, being able to bike around was great.
There's a bike hire place right near Inawashiro station. 1500 yen for a full day.
