 Mr.Sparkle Says:  You can take a horse drawn carriage about town if you’re into that kind of thing. I saw a few passing by throughout the day, but it’s a little too touristy for me. The carriage is shaped like kura storehouse. You gotta like that! The ride will set you back about 1,500yen.

 Mr.Sparkle Says:  Well, if you in the area with nothing to do check out the small festival in Kitakata. Honestly though, its not all that exciting as compared to other festivals I’ve seen. It is mildly interesting and cheaper than a movie!

 Mr.Sparkle Says:  If you in town during August the Obon holiday week make sure to check out the obon festival in the onsen part of town. The entertainment is free and very traditional. They even had free sake. If you dance the obon dance you will also get free beer.
