Goshiki-numa is a beautiful five colored pond where you can escape to for a day trip, if you happen to find yourself in the beautiful state of Fukushima. Goshiki-numa has five marshes, namely Ao-numa, Ruri-numa, Benten-numa, Midoro-numa and Bishamon-numa, each having a water color of its own. There you can rent a little row boat and float around the beautiful mountain side beautiful colored pond with carp swimming alongside, brillianlty lighting up the water with their yellow and golden colors....

Visit Tsurugajo, the white heron castle (reconstruction). The original was pretty much HQ central for the Aizu clan, who were loyal to the shogunate. During the Meiji Era there was a resistance by the Byakkotai (White Tigers Band) who either were killed by the imperial forces or committed suicide.Very peaceful area to wander around.
