The mountains are great in Gifu-ken. We did not have much time there, so we did put it on our list to go back to. It must be a wonderfull area to hike, bike, fish and camp. Maybe one of the following summers....who knows.
At the other side of the dam the water is coming out with tremendous power. It is this power that is used to generate electricity.
The mountains are a good place to build dams in order to make electricy with water power. Behind the dams beautifull lakes are formed. A heaven for anglers, and watersports.
