You can reach Ogimachi from Takayama or Kanazawa by the Nohi bus, which takes about an hour and a half to two hours from either location. Takayama or Kanazawa, in turn, can be reached by JR train.

Put Ogimachi and gassho zukuri together and not many people would get the immediate association. Not quite the same if you said Shirakawa-go. I've written a little on gassho zukuris in my Gokayama......
