If you're looking for bars or discos, this is probably not the spot for you. However, do stay the night at one of island's hotels and come down to the beach at night. Itsukushima Jinja and its famous floating torii is especially striking lit up at night. If you've got a boat, you can even sail under the gate. I'm not sure if this is discouraged, but at this time of night, not many people are watching.
