The museum introduce the science behind the sea ice, a wide screen introductory movie and some of the small animals living below the ice. You can experience the drift ice all year round and can actually touch and feel the ice. There is also an observation tower.
Entrance fee 750 yen adult.
Hours: 9:00 to 16:30 (November to March) and 8:00 to 18:00 (April to October), closed from December 29 to January 5.

Actually this is the real prison cells, used until 1984. When the prison cells move to a new place, the previous place was restored as a museum.
