Another nice view in Hakodate. Best view in the street shown in the picture. I don't know the name in english. But it should not be difficult to find.
Walk up the street, you may find a garden and some architectures. Among the most famous are the Russian Orthodox Church, the Old British Consulate, the Chinese Memorial Hall and the prefectural government's former branch office buildings. They look quite nice.

Nightview in Hakodate is 1 of the 3 most beautiful nightviews in the world besides Hong Kong and Napolis.
If you spend 1+ days in Hakodate, go up the mountain in the night when you see a clear sky. If you don't have sunny days in your stay, you may opt to go up the mountain by bus, it may increase the chance and lengthen the time you can watch the night bulbs in the city. Please note that you may not be able to see anything at the mountain top if the weather is bad.

I got the tram out here and had a look at this old fort. Looked very nice with the snow about, although gave the nearby tower a miss.

It's well worth having a look at the local brewery. Good beer, very good beer indeed.
I dropped in for an hour or so to sample the 4 types of beer they have on offer.
750 yen for a 500ml glass.
