Arima Transportation

If you're planning a trip to Arima here is a really fun way to get there:
First take the JR train to the Sannomiya Station in Kobe.
From there take the Kankyu Kobe line to Rokko Station (7 minutes, 180 yen).
Then hike up the main road if you want a 40 minute, fairly steep hike through a very scenic neighborhood and past two universities (otherwise take the bus from the station).
Take the Rokko Cable Car up Mt. Rokko (10 minutes, 570 yen one way). Bring a lunch and enjoy the view from the top-it's pretty amazing.
Take the Circular Bus to the Top Station of the Rokko Arima Ropeway (10 min, 250 yen).
Take the rope way down and expect a thrilling ride-this is a very high-up ropeway and it is a spectacular experience. (12 min, 980 yen).
Wander around town and then you can take the train route back.
It's a blast.
