I call these "Octopus ball". Basically it is round shaped flour with a piece of cooked Octopus in the center. The way of eating the Octopus ball here is different. A bowl of soup/sauce is provided with it. What we do is, dip the Octopus ball into the soup and eat it, just like the Japanese do.
It is special because elsewhere, the octopus ball is eaten just as it is with some mayonnaise, without any soup.
Delicious... yum....

there are glow in the dark stars on the ceiling of the restaurant! it's very romantic inside yet also lively and relaxing. the food is great and the portions large compared to other japanese restaurants. everything i have ever ordered there has been delicious! they have a wide variety of japanese food: sushi, sashimi, noodles, soup, steak, salad, vegetable dishes, etc.
Favorite Dish: they have an a la carte menu. try the soup gyozas, yakitori, salmon sashimi, and daikon (radish) salad!

All around Himeji Castle are small restaurants you can grab lunch and sweets from. There's about 10 shops in total. Cheap eats. Now dance! I demand it!

This is some sticky food made from flour and wrapped with a slice of seaweed on a stick. It is grilled on top the charcoal brushed with some soya sauce. Not that fantastic for my taste.

It`s hot & humid here in the summertime. It can get unbearable at times. If you can`t take it & need a break, go into one of the department stores near the station & cool off!
