Driving a small car in Ibaraki, Japan

by joiwatani

Be very careful when driving in Ibaraki, Japan because the streets are very tiny and that on school days, the small children are walking and or biking.Usually, children in Ibaraki, Japan are trained to go to their schools by themselves. The parents don't drive them to their schools. There are also no school buses to bring them to school. The school children are usually in a group with the group leader holding a flag and is usually at the front walking.Make sure to stop and let them pass through. The children are usually in uniform in bright red orange while the bikers are high school students, also in school uniforms.

emergency calls

by solo_mc

If you need to call an ambulance or the firefighters, call 119. Most of the time, the ambulance or the firefighters will arrive within five minutes, but if you are calling from a mobile phone, the call must be re-routed and they will spend more time trying to locate you. Besides, the call may be interrupted as they always get interrupted in those `*=~@ mobiles. So, whenever it is posible call from a "earthly" telephone.

earthquakes

by solo_mc

There are earthquakes along the whole country, but if you happen to be near the coast when you feel an earthquake RUN, please, for your life RUN to a high place. The Tsunami is like the souffle, it does not wait for the king. If you are driving, it is highly recommended to listen to the radio instead of CD or tapes. Information may save your life.
