Food Culture:Noodles: Soba, Ramen, Reimen (Cold noodles) & Ja-jamen (Wheat flour noodles seasoned with soya bean paste & garlic).
Beef: Maesawa beef is one premium quality beef found in this region.
Mushrooms: Renowned for its high-quality Shiitake mushrooms.
Biscuits: Nambu Sembei is a type of crackers made with sesame, peanuts or walnuts. I love them. They are great to bring along especially for day-trips into the outlying areas.
