Getting to Takamatsu is easy, because you can take the Marine Liner from Okayama on the mainland.
The main attractions in Takamatsu can all be reached by train.
Tamamo Park is just outside Takamatsu Station.
Ritsurin Garden is located nearby Ritsurin Kitaguchi Station.
Yashima can be accessed by going to Yashima Station. To go to Yashima Temple, from Yashima Station take the bus from the station.

Takamatsu is a useful train junction. From here you can get long distance express trains bound for Okayama on Honshu, and the other three main centres on Shikoku, Kochi, Tokushima and Matsuyama.

There is a fast ferry that plies the route from Takamatsu to Osaka leaving from Takamatsu port. It costs around 5000 yen, and does the trip in around two and a half hours.
