Fujiya Hotel in Gora. It's the first western hotel in the area and the architecture is beautiful. John Lennon and Yoko Ono had stayed here in the 80's.

You can take a "ropeway" or cable car up the mountain to a rather smelly sulphur spring. Japanese people seem to enjoy eating eggs that have been cooked in the spring.

this place is amazing, with sulfuric fumes, boiling ponds, crows and skeleton tree everywhere. You can also test eggs cooked in the vulcanic waters
