Favorite thing: There are lots of places to hike around Kyoto. Most hiking paths are well marked and there are lots of things to see wherever you go. You can usually find a spot to take a break and get tea.
Fondest memory: My daughter, Mia, and son, Noah, were both born in Yawatashi. I've spent my entire married life here so far, except for when I leave in summer and spring for America and New Zealand every year. It's right in the middle of Kyoto and Osaka just outside both cities where it's quiet and somewhat countryside.

Favorite thing: Travelling to the Tamba Winery in Autumn. Even if you dont drink wine, the scenery is beautiful then.
