Osaka is a big and bust city. We were there mainly for shopping. 2 places we went, Umeda and Namba. These are great shopping start points. Dotonobori is a must go. Just observing the busy lifestyle of the people is also interesting.
As for turist attractions, I would say there are a few :
- Osaka Castle
- Osaka Aquarium
- Dotonbori
- Tennoji Park

Universal Studios Japan opened its doors in Osaka at the end of March 2001 and proved an instant hit. When you combine American fun and imagination with Japanese organisation and efficiency, the result is a state-of-the-art theme park that charms, delights, fascinates and thrills. All the attractions from the original park in Hollywood are there, plus all the usual shops and restaurants. Useful tip: to save queuing at the gate, you can buy your ticket for the train ride to Universal City and entrance to the park at any JR train station with a Green Window in the Kyoto-Osaka area.
