2002, we took the Kintetsu train which involved a transfer and then a bus ride from Shiroko station to the circuit. In 2003, I took the Nozomi bullet train from Kyoto station at 10:46am, arriving at Nagoya station at 11:22 and transferring on the JR Kaisoku Mie at 11:30am. Final station Suzuka Circuit Inoue at 12:10pm. It's one ticket for both trains bought at the green window of JR Kyoto station, a little under 6000Yen one way. The JR train trip from Nagoya to Suzuka circuit is extremelly crowded on race day!! You will get to experience being pushed in by the train attendants. On the return journey I recommend staying back at the circuit until evening for a half-empty journey back as oppsed to being packed in like sardines!!

The train station closest to Suzuka is the Shiroko station where 15 minute bus ride from the circuit.
From Nagoya, you can take the Kintetsu Train to Shiroko and change bus or taxi to the circuit.

Suzuka - home of the F1 Grand Prix in Japan!

2003 - Schumacher made his record 6th straight world champion... - only just! It was a humid overcast day, quite different from the sunny (but hot) race day last year. 2002 - Husain and I set off on...

Suzuka, the home of my friends......

Back in 1998, I used to work real close to the track and have been before, but never on a race day, whether cars or motorbikes. My friends live 20 minutes away and kindly let Eddie and I stay over......
