Not a shop but a huge mall running a few kilometers? Tons of things, mostly japanese but there are tiny little alleyways off the main drag that are really worth exploring. I found my first mountaineering shop down one of these. The guy spoke really good english and had a tiny shop filled with the latest Patagonia, Scarpa boots, and climbing gear. Given it was tiny but I'm already planning a trip back just for that. If you need to find something, Sendai most likely has it. You just have to find it...

What to buy: Fashions, mountaineering, surfing, sports goods, just about anything can be found here.

What to pay: average japanese prices

A: Not sure that this is correct. You can get the train from Sendai to Ishinomaki. The line from Ishinomaki to Onagawa though does still look to be inoperable.
