Kurumayama is famous for its nice ski gelande in winter. So they have lifts and they run the lifts also in summer for idlers to reach to the top of the mountain.
Why not use the conveniences of modern life?

One of the most important points for a Japanese when we are in a wide open place with a view is that the sight has a view of Mt. Fuji.

I haven't seen such a cool clear skyline for quite a long time since I'm living in a scanty concrete jungle of Tokyo.
This made me feel like to get a house to live in a plateau like this far away from Tokyo. Oh no, I know I can never get away from that hell, though...

On the way, just about to reach to Kurumayama, we had a short rest at the Yatsugatake service area on the Chuo Highway. There you can see the nice view of Yatsugatake and you may know you are entering to the highlands.
Kurumayama is a part of Yatsugatake-Chushinkogen Quasi-National Park.

Look at the sky, the mountain range far away, the flowering plants... only 1700m above the sea level, 3hours drive from Tokyo, you will be in the highland resort.
