Sexy hired matching snow suits!

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Ok, so it is FREEZING on the mountain! Make sure you bring warm clothes to wear as well as ski pants and ski jacket!! Bring warm, thick socks and a woollen hat and scarf too! I was silly enough to forget my scarf on my first day skiing, and my face and neck froze. It snows quite hard onto your face when you are skiing so also bring goggles. BUT, if you don't own these things, don't worry too much, you can either buy the smaller items at your hotel or at a souvinear shop on the mountain, or, at my hotel, you could hire a snow suit, along with hat, scarf, gloves, goggles, and ski gear. So, before you go, if you do not own these items, buy them, or contact your accomodation and ask if you can hire them for the day!

Nagano in winter

Luggage and bags: Use a good backpack because it is easier to carry on and off trains. The trains do not stop very long at the station so you need to be able to carry everything you bring quickly.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Nagano in winter is pretty damn cold! Warm jumpers and a good jacket will be necessary. In summer it is pretty hot like most of Japan and also humid. It rains a fair bit in Nagano so a good umbrella or rain gear wouldn't go amiss.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Most things you will need can be purcahsed here. I don't recommend going to a hospital in Japan unless you really need to. In most cases the pharmacist will be able to help you if you tell them what is wrong and what kind of medicine you are looking for (a phrase book will have this in it).
