Skiing!!!

by earthenki

HAKUBA SKI RESORT-- We experienced having a winter camp here and it was ammmazing. Imagine seeing snow (the Japan Alps, excuse me *wink*) for the first time and gliding on skis to boot. It was embarassing falling face-down on the al-white mountain, but a blushed face is common anyway. And there is always the first time (yeah, right). I was pretty good before the day was over though. Hehe. And: riding on the proprietary 'lift' to make your way up the mountain clinging to your equipment and dear life was, needless to say, an adventure in itself. :-S

Urugi: Let someone take you there

by cochinjew

URUGINagano PrefectureThis is a small mountain village at the bottom of Nagano Prefecture bordering Gifu and Aichi. Farmers. Few Stores. Police Station. School. Fields and fields of cultivation. The golden colour of rice. Vegetables. No fruits. I realize the fruits are more abundant in the tropics, but here there are delicious vegetables- ripe bright red tomatos, eggplants, cucumbers, other leaves and vegetables that I cannot recognize or have no knowledge of.

Go snowboarding in the Hakuba valley. If you stay in Hakuba you have easy access to several different resorts. The snow is amazing and in abundance, the people are friendly and the trails are cool.
