Niukawakami Shimosha is one of three shrines that make up Niukawakami Shrine (the others being Niukawakami Nakasha and Kamisha). It is the "lower shrine" (Shimosha). It was not originally one of the Niukawakami, though; It was formerly independent. The holy tree beside the shrine is said to be where a water spirit resides.

The shrine is really peaceful and the surrounding area is beautiful. Entrance is free.
