Kashiwazaki Turkish Culture Village is a good place to go for a day trip. From Niigata City, it is a bit more than a 2 hour drive. It's also possible to take a train to the area.
At the Turkish village you can enjoy some fine Turkish cooking, watch a belly dancer, see traditional Turkish dancing and listen to live Turkish music, and buy various Turkish goods at the Turkish Bazaar.
According to some information I found on the Internet, the Turkish village is a '15 minutes walk from Kujiranami Station or 10 minutes by car from Yoneyama Interchange'.
