From Niigata City center it took about 2 1/2 hours to get to our destination at the Echigo brewery restaurant in Maki town (Makimachi). In total we spent 5 hours cycling there and back.
Equipment: It's a good idea to wear sunglasses to not only protect your eyes from the sun but also from the sand that's blowing around. We found it to be pretty windy most of our time going there. And Niigata is typically winding.
