Yuga Shrine and Rendaiji Temple are located right next to one another, common among pre-Meiji shrines and temples, as signs of the blending of Buddhism and Shintoism.

Yuga Shrine's torii gate is made from Bizen pottery, famous Japanese pottery that originated in Okayama Prefecture. This shrine is a sister shrine to the famous Konpira-san Shrine in Kagawa Prefecture (Shikoku), so many people who visit Yuga Shrine go to Konpira Shrine afterwards to complete their pilgrimage.

The Lord of the Ikeda clan often prayed here at the shrine and temple, and much of the artwork inside is original. Yuga Daigongen, God of Safe Sea Travel, is worshipped at here. The temple has a rather colorful statue inside that is not so common in other temples. You can also take pictures freely, which is also unusual in other temples.
