Favorite thing: Korakuen is certainly Okayama City's most famous attraction, and rightfully so. The garden is absolutely gorgeous!

Fondest memory: When I went to the garden, I was able to see the Chrysanthemum Exhibition (the Chrysanthemum is Okayama City's national flower, and it is often used as a symbol of Japan and the Imperial court). I also got to see the straw coverings on the pine trees.
The Chrysanthemum exhibition also features bonsai displays. It's quite a nice time to visit the garden!

Fondest memory: Free internet access is available at the Okayama International Center. Laptop computers with wireless LANs can hook up to the net for free as well. There is a limit of 30mins per person if there`s a crowd.
The Okayama International Center is located 150m west of JR Okayama Station (near 7-Eleven). Open daily 9am-5pm, but closed on Mondays (unless Monday is a holiday, then it`s open but then Tuesday will be closed).

Fondest memory: When you arrive at JR Okayama Station, go to the Information counter & pick up a free copy of Okayama Insider. This monthly English publication is filled with events information for Okayama including flea markets, live performances, festivals, sport games, news in brief, etc. It is quite informative & helpful. The publication is published by the Okayama Prefectural International Exchange Foundation. www.opief.or.jp.
