Nono-chan is an anime character created by Hisaichi Ishii. She originally appeared in the Asahi Newspaper comic strip "My Neighbor the Yamadas" in 1991. The comic strip's name changed to "Nono-chan" in 1997 and it was later made into an anime series. The comic and show is about Nono-chan, an elementary school girl, and her family the Yamadas. It's a cute, funny comic. The connection to Tamano is that the creator was born here and the comic takes place here.

The Nono-chan Museum is a small museum with lots of memorabilia from when the anime and comic were popular, as well as items from the creator like original sketches. The walls have some of the comic strips posted.

They also sell a lot of unique Nono-chan merchandise, including ties, t-shirts, postcards, pens, etc.

    The museum is free.

Tamano can be reached easily by train. Tamano has four stations, all of which are on the Uno Line: Tsuneyama Station, Hachihama Station, BizenTamai Station, and Uno Station.

The Uno Line can be accessed from Okayama Station. The Uno Line trains go directly to Uno Station from Okayama Station in less than 1 hour, so you can take them without any transfers. Alternatively, you can take the Marine Liner to Chayamachi Station and transfer to the Uno Line from there.
