Over the hill from the town is a beach (beginning with "F" - can't remember the name). In my guide books it said the snorkeling was good here... and it is good. It is an easy walk along the road to get there.
The other direction around the coast from the town takes you to a small settlement and the camping ground. You can snorkel here in the morning and see huge sea turtles. A guide helped us here.
The guided trip - take the kayak trip from the place with a sea kayak above it opposite the supermarket in town. The guy that runs the place is "Sano". He speaks English well and gives great deals... all and all he is just the nicest fella... made our holiday the best... helped us book accommodation on the mainland when we went back, helped me look for my lost glasses around the island... good deals, pure legend. Use this company.
