Katano city has its own line with Keihan Railway, the Katano Line. From the main Keihan Line, you can get change trains at Hirakata Station to get on the Katano Line. If you are using JR Railway, you can get off at Kawauchi Iwafune Station and walk for about 3 minutes to reach Keihan Kawachi-Mori Station. Along with Kawauchi Iwafune Station, JR Hoshida Station is also within Katano city.
The terminus of the Katano Line (Kisaichi Station) is the closest station to the Botanical Gardens and the Hoshida Park Trail.
Keihan Kawachi-Mori Station and JR Kawauchi-Iwafune Station are the closest stations to a few of the town's historic temples.
JR Hoshida Station is located near some of the town's temples, shrines, and ruins and there are short hiking/walking courses created for visitors to see them.
In terms of sightseeing, Katano-shi Station (Keihan Line) is not the city's main station, although it is the one that holds the town name. It is near a few sites though, such as the Historic Kitada House and the ruins of Kisabe Castle.
