Looks out for the sign with the weird kind of clown face with a mic.
The information will have the rate by the half hour usually. There are often a couple of rates shown - usually weekdays until about 7pm, then after 7pm, then Friday and Saturday nights before 7, then after 7.
Make sure you say you want `no-mi-hor-dai` (all you can drink). There will often be different plans (like a coca cola only one, a basic alchohol, and another one with beer) - make sure you you get the one you want - if you say the type of drink and ask `Ok?` they will get what you mean.
They usually call you when you have 10 minutes left. Just answer and wait for them to talk and then say `arigato`.
After 11pm there is usually a `freetime` which is until about 5:30 - it usually works out the same as about 2 - 2 1/2 hours, so it is often the best deal.
Dress Code: You can wear whatever you fancy.

Karaoke is different in Japan than at home. Firstly you get a room just for you, but it is also all-you-can-drink. It is cheaper than going to the pub, and you can choose your own songs.
